Deseret Food Store (“Deseret Food Store,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website, place an order, contact us, or use our live chat, how we use that information, and the choices you have.

Who we are

Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Payment information. Payment card details are collected and processed by our payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Account information. Your username, password, and preferences if you create an account.
  • Live chat and support information. The name, mobile phone number, optional email address, and message you submit when you ask to connect with a live agent through our website chat widget, plus the chat transcript and the page you were viewing.
  • Form submissions. Information you send through our contact form or newsletter signup.
  • Technical information. IP address, browser type and user agent, device information, and pages visited, collected through cookies and similar technologies.

How we use your information

  • To process, fulfill, and ship your orders, including auto-ship subscriptions.
  • To respond to your questions through live chat, text message, email, or phone.
  • To send order confirmations, shipping notifications, and other transactional messages.
  • To send marketing emails and promotions when you have asked to receive them.
  • To operate, secure, and improve our website.
  • To detect and prevent fraud and abuse, and to comply with our legal obligations.

SMS and mobile information

When you request a live agent through our website chat, you may enter your mobile phone number and actively select a separate SMS consent checkbox. The checkbox is unchecked by default and must be selected before the form can be submitted. By selecting it, you agree that Deseret Food Store may text you at the number provided to answer your question and follow up about your order. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent to receive text messages is never a condition of purchasing any product or service from us.

We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors who provide support services, such as our messaging platform provider and customer service tools, is permitted solely so that we can deliver the messages you requested. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We use Twilio Inc. as our messaging service provider to send and receive text messages. Twilio processes this information on our behalf under its own privacy policy and does not use your mobile number for its own marketing.

You may stop receiving text messages from us at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by calling us at (801) 444-1444. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Full messaging terms, including message frequency, are described in our Terms & Conditions.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us run our business, and only to the extent they need it to perform their work for us:

  • Payment processors, to authorize and settle your payment.
  • Shipping carriers and fulfillment partners, to deliver your order.
  • Our website host, email provider, and messaging provider (Twilio), to operate the site and deliver communications you requested.
  • Spam-prevention and security services.
  • Law enforcement or regulators, where we are legally required to do so.

As stated above, mobile phone numbers and SMS consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies to keep items in your cart, remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand how the site is used. If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies for your convenience; these last one year. Login cookies last two days, or two weeks if you select “Remember Me,” and screen-option cookies last one year. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as intended.

Embedded content from other websites

Pages on this site may include embedded content such as videos, images, or social media feeds. Embedded content behaves as though you visited that other website directly, and those websites may collect data about you, use cookies, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content.

How long we keep your information

We keep order and transaction records for as long as needed to fulfill orders, honor warranties and returns, and meet tax and accounting requirements. Live chat transcripts and the contact details submitted with them are retained for a limited period for quality and support purposes. Account information is kept until you ask us to delete it. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your choices and rights

  • Text messages. Reply STOP to any message to opt out.
  • Marketing email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
  • Access and deletion. You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing deseretfoodstore@hotmail.com. We may need to keep certain records for legal, tax, or security reasons.
  • Account. If you have an account, you can view and edit your information at any time by logging in.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections for checkout and account pages. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children’s privacy

Our website and products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
